Bus to Detroit Airport

From Detroit Airport, there are several bus options: SMART Public Transportation, AirRide, Michigan Flyer, among others. 

Passengers will find several bus options at the Airport. Our recommendation is DAX. 

Detroit Air Xpress (DAX)

DAX connects Downtown Detroit. 

Operates from 3:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. 365 days.  evAmenities of the service include room for luggage storage, comfortable seating, charging ports and Wi-Fi.

Tickets are 8$.

Smart 

Smart is a public bus transportation option, also known as the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation, offers several routes: 

Route 125

Serves both McNamara Terminal and North Terminal, getting from Fort Street. 

Route 280

Only from the North Terminal, covers the Middle Belt South route. 

FAST route 261

A high-frequency service that stops at both McNamara and North terminals and connects Downtown Detroit with the suburbs very quickly as there are limited stops in this route.

AirRide

Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority provides public transportation between Detroit Airport and Ann Arbor. 

AirRide route serves both terminals.

Some hotels offer courtesy shuttles from DTW Airport.

We recommend to first check with your hotel if the service is offered.

Location

Bus service is provided from Ground Transportation Center in the North Terminal and at Departures Level, near Door 1, in the McNamara Terminal.
